Mrs. Reanie Sally Polly (Moore) Montgomery

Mrs. Reanie Sally Polly (Moore) Montgomery was born on August 6, 1916, the second of eleven children of Wesley and Reanie Moore. She peacefully transitioned from time to eternity on January 21, 2017 at home in the presence of her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wallace Montgomery; daughters, Dorothy Thomas and Mae Evelyn Montgomery; brothers Isaac John Wesley “Child”, Andrew Lee “Dad”, James Earnest “Lully”, Joseph Benjamin “Baker”, Herbert Alvin, and Floyd Henry; sisters Viola Lillian “Bounce” Randall, Mae Ella Walter, and Hattie Sue Davis.

Aunt Mutt, as she was affectionately called, was a devoted member of St. Paul Baptist Church for more than 86 years. She loved her pastor and fellow church members dearly and fiercely.

She married Wallace Montgomery in February 1939 and was widowed in November 1986.

She leaves to cherish her memory their children Odesser (J.L.) of Fresno CA, Dr. Betty Hayes of Milwaukee WI, Earnest Bush (Shirley), Naomi Walter, and Terry Montgomery (Loubertha) of Houston, TX, Bobbye Holmes and Emma Montgomery of Hampton, AR, Wallace Montgomery Jr. (Jewel) of El Dorado, AR, and Lynda Carter of Louann, AR. They also embraced Leonard Amey (Lynette), a friend of their son’s from the military, whom they regarded as a son. Also left behind are one brother Willie (Ann) Moore of Houston, TX and sisters-in-law Ruthie Montgomery of Riverside, CA, Lois Montgomery of Los Angeles, CA, Peggy Moore of Hampton, AR and Sandra Moore of Houston, TX, 30 Grandchildren, including the “Summer Bunch” Tharon Bush, Chandra Holmes, Kevin, Kenneth & Diedre Thomas, and Ericka & Ronnie Walter, 80 great-grandchildren and 44 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and great friends.

Wake will be Friday, 5-7:00 p.m. at St Paul and Funeral at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28.
