O.B. Johnston

On Sunday night, July 11, 2021, O.B. Johnston peacefully moved from this earthly life to life eternal at Somerset Senior Living at Pine Hills in Camden, AR. The only son of Oscar Britton Johnston and Birdie Watson Johnston. He was born August 26, 1934 in Hampton, AR. He made his home in Hampton until he married Carolyn Williams. O.B. and Carolyn moved to Pine Bluff where they raised sons, Marc and Jim. O.B. retired from International Paper Company in Pine Bluff, AR.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Carolyn Williams Johnston, their sons, Marcus (Marc) Britton Johnston and James (Jim) Morris Johnston. Also preceded him in death are his sisters and their spouses, Charlotte and Elmer Lee West, Floy and P.E. Barnes, Mary Sue and Mike Shoffner, and Bettye Jean and John Hopper.

Survivors include his grandson, Marcus Dylan Johnston, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jody and Wanda Williams, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was an active member of the Hawley United Methodist Church in Pine Bluff until his health prevented him from attending. Graveside services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, July 14 at Camp Ground Cemetery in Hampton with James Rawls and Rev. Rickey Smith officiating.
