William M. Dunn

William M. Dunn of Hampton, Arkansas, known as “Bill Dunn,” to everyone who knew him, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. He was born on April 21, 1932, to Allen Bryant and Nellie Dunn of Hampton.

Bill was a gifted Graphic Artist at International Paper for over 45 years. Bill was a tree farmer, cattle rancher, and enthusiastic gardener. He was an avid wild game hunter who loved spending time at the family camp. He was a lifelong member of Faustina United Methodist Church.

Bill had a strong sense of family and was a friend to everyone who knew him. He was married to the love of his life, Evelyn L. Dunn, for 44 years until her death in 1998. Their pride and joy were their four children, Kenny, Janet, Steve, and Jenny, along with their extended family. Bill is preceded in death by his father and mother; four brothers, Larkin, Wilbur, Allen Jerry, and Howard Dunn; two sisters, Frances Proffit and Travis Walker; his devoted wife, Evelyn, and their beloved dog, AJ.

Survivors include his youngest sister, Jimmie Nell Gilbert of Hampton as well as his four children: Kenneth Allen (Sue) Dunn, Janet (Michael) Byrd, Steven (Becky) Dunn, and Jennifer (Jeffrey) Dunn Haslauer. His grandchildren: Cody Allen (Wendy) Strickland, Matthew Bryant (Stephanie) Dunn, Andrew (Kimberly) Strickland, Keith Strickland, Sydney Elizabeth Lemley, Maxwell Haslauer, Austin Minor, Virginia Hirsch, Jason (Sherry) Beaver, Christy (Noah Kassos) Beaver, Timothy (Jamie) Byrd, Gabriel Haslauer, and Patrick (Ashley) Byrd. Bill was also blessed with the company of numerous great-grandchildren, Trevor and Connor Dunn, Killian Strickland, Reed and Rhett Strickland, Braelynn, Braxton, and Annistyn Byrd, Hamp and Myla Wallace, Gabriel Oneessimo, Benjamin Weaver, Matty and Gabe Beaver as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and lifelong friends.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held graveside at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 16 at Dunn Cemetery near Hampton.
