Canaan Baptist Church was organized in 1871 by Rev. Green Berry Talbot, Jr. (18231885) and about twentyfive others. The first church building was built on the road from Summerville to Jersey near Jolley Creek. Around this time H. M. Lucas was a member. WASHINGTON Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus (CSC) leaders Reps. Teachers Return to Hampton School District
August 1 was an exciting day attheHamptonSchools. All employees returned for a full day of training. Administrators,teachers, and support staffed gathered for their first day of the 2023-24 school year and it was a day full of learning. The day began with the administrators; Elementary Principal Tom Sawyer, High School Principal Bryan Sanders and newly hired Superintendent Matt Scarbrough serving breakfast to the everyone.
