Local Calhoun Cohort Bound for Miss Arkansas 2022

On January 8, 2022, El Dorado crowned the very first Miss Boomtown, Miss Boomtown’s Outstanding Teen, Miss Pine Valley, and Miss Pine Valley’s Outstanding Teen. Under the direction of Cindee Mason & Torri Jacobs, these young women will start preparing to compete for the state titles of Miss Arkansas and Miss Arkansas’ Outstanding Teen in Little Rock this summer:

Hampton — The Arkansas School Boards Association (ASBA) announced that January is School Board Member Recognition Month in Arkansas. School board members play an essential role in our community. Hampton School District will join other districts in Arkansas in celebration of our board by thanking them for the time, talents, and knowledge they bring to our district and for their commitment to the families and children of our community.

Anhydrous Ammonia Town Meeting

JANUARY 11, 2022 —A meeting for those damaged by the September 23, 2021 pipeline leak of Ammonia was held at the Nutrition Center on January 11. Information was shared on efforts to get a equitable settlement for the hundreds of people with property damage as a result of the leak. In addition, there were nearly 300 families that were evacuated and paid for hotel rooms and food while they waited for an all clear allowing them to return to their homes.
