County Agent Receives Forestry Award
Jaret Rushing, Staff Chair of Calhoun County, was recently awarded the Technology Transfer Award from the Ouachita Society of American Foresters for his work in forestry and wildlife promotion through social media. Jaret has posted over 80 posts in 2020/21 specifically highlighting attributes of forestry and wildlife management including: general tree ID, wildlife species ID, vegetation management, cultivation, reptile encounter safety tips, feral hog control, forest “edibles”, and white-tailed deer antler scoring and aging among many others.
