The Hampton City Council met last week in the room where they normally met, before the pandemic. And it was back to normal with grips and complaints.

Rylee Griffis, daughter of William and April Griffis, is the class valedictorian with a grade point average of 4.1370. While attending Hampton High School, Rylee has been a member of the beta club serving as president, east, yearbook serving as editor, fire marshals, student council serving as vice president, FBLA serving as president, girl scouts, football, basketball, and baseball manager, bulldog buddies serving as reporter, class officer serving as president, a member of women of wisdom, the engineering club, and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was also nominated to attend the American Legion’s Arkansas Girls State as a delegate, nominated to attend Arkansas Governor’s School, and was recognized at the Governor’s Scholastic Honors Day. Rylee plans to attend Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia and major in biochemistry/pre-medicine in order to begin her pursuit of becoming a surgeon.

Supply Chain

When I was growing up, most retail operations would have a warehouse of some kind attached to the back of their store. It was not uncommon for a clerk to say, “We don’t have anymore on the shelf, but let me check in the back.” More times than not the clerk brought out what you needed. The breakdown in that supply chain was the failure of the employees to restock the shelves.

My husband’s culinary skills begin and end with making a great pot of coffee. With that in mind, I’ve created a simple Mother’s Day dinner recipe that even a non-cook can successfully follow. Preparing a meal is one of the best ways to show someone you love them. After all, the origin of Mother’s Day is rooted in a daughter’s love and respect for her mother.
