Calhoun County Pond Health Workshop

The Calhoun County Pond Health Workshop was held April 28. It started with presentations on pond weed identification and an overview of fishing in Arkansas and ended with a pond shocking demonstration held at a local pond in Hampton. People who attended the workshop were able to see how Arkansas Game and Fish safely collect fish to be measured and then released back into the water. They use the data they collect to tell if a pond is overstocked or not, the health of fish in the pond, and the different types of fish that are present.
