Arkansas Money & Politics magazine of Little Rock has introduced its Legal Elite, 100 of the state’s top attorneys specializing in areas of the law, ranging from sports law to family law.

I propose to you a concept that has been around since the first government took control of it’s subjects. I offer you the concept of “classism.” We have race, gender, and economic bias embedded in our society as familiar aspects. Could it possibly be we are more tainted with a class bias rather than these others? Should we be just as aware of the way we view others, not just as people of color, sexual identity or preference, but as how we view the class or caste of person they may be?

This week’s spotlight African American is the one and only Michelle LaVaughn Robinson. The former first lady made her entry into the spotlight and in history as being the first African American woman to become the First Lady of the United States. She is the wife of the 44th President, Barack Obama.
