The President evoked this saying from the desk of Harry S. Truman. The saying has a history that dates before Trumann but here on his desk it infers that the President cannot not “pass the buck” to anyone else.

Conway Twitty began his performing career in Helena during World War II while still a child. From these early days, he would eventually sell more than 50 million albums and become one of the most popular stars of country music.

On Aug. 9, 1854, Henry David Thoreau’s classic “Walden; or, A Life in the Woods” is published. The book is Walden’s account of his experimental time of simple living in a cabin at Walden Pond in Concord, Massachusetts, starting in 1845. The book sold just 300 copies a year when it was published.

My Week at the Border

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to serve as Civil Air Patrol chaplain at Falcon Virgo in El Paso. I was tasked with several jobs, as needed, one of which was transporting pilots to the airport.
